History

April 2004 – God made it evident to Steve Rumschlag that he was called to plant a new church in Findlay.  Steve and Mike Tegtmeyer met at the annual ARC conference to find out what God might be doing, little did they know.

July 2004 – Steve and Kristi moved to Findlay without a job or any idea what to do next, just a confidence that God had a plan.  The team also took shape with God moving in the hearts of Mike and Dorene Tegtmeyer, Josh and Rachel Spiegel, and Aaron and Shannon Moyer.  The group started meeting together sporadically.

February 2006 –  Mike and Dorene Tegtmeyer finally sold their house in Toledo and were freed to move to Findlay.  This allowed the group to start meeting together every week.

December 2007 –  The group decided to launch a public service.  Up until this point the church had been meeting in homes.  We papered the community with flyers and greeters welcoming them to our church.  We made arrangements with the Cube, Findlay’s recreation center.  God blessed us with a couple more regular attendees:  Cara Hill and Eric Walter.

June 2008 – The church relocated to the Lighthouse, a banquet hall operated by Youth for Christ.

August 2008 – Turning Point hosted a booth at the Hancock County Fair.

May 2009 – Turning Point launched its “Why Findlay?” campaign.

November 2009 –  The church relocated once more to its current location, The Verb.
